CITGO

Chief Financial Officer

CITGO is a US-based refiner, transporter, and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals and other industrial products headquartered in Houston, Texas. The company owns three large and complex refineries in the United States and is the 5th largest refiner in the country. The company has over 3,400 employees and also owns and operates terminals, pipelines, and lubricant blending and packing plants. CITGO also has over 4,900 independently owned branded retail outlets across America. Due to recent changes in the executive team, there is a need for the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer.

The Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) is critical to the continued success of the growth trajectory of the business in that it provides leadership in the areas of Financial & Strategic Planning, Financial Governance & Reporting, and Operational Excellence. This role will assist the CEO with relevant guidance on key business decisions which will impact the long-term business growth and profitability of the company.

The CFO will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.  Citgo has a complex capital structure as well as a complex ownership structure when compared to other refining actors in the US, creating an opportunity for a CFO to work in a unique reporting situation with a high level of influence.  The CFO will have frequent communications with the board of directors and the audit committee of the board to present monthly and quarterly results as well as refinancing of debt obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the energy sector, preferably in refining, along with significant financing experience.  The selected individual will also have a strong reputation in the industry, strong strategic acumen, and a purpose-oriented mindset.  This individual will also have close connections in the banking community and strong financing experience.
