The company owns three large and complex refineries in the United States and is the 5th largest refiner in the country. CITGO also has over 4,200 independently owned branded retail outlets across America.​
The Role:
The General Manager, New Business Development position is responsible for leading CITGO origination team to proactively identify, develop, evaluate and execute international and domestic business opportunities, to strengthen and enhance CITGO portfolio value via strategic commercial arrangements. This is achieved by developing and maintaining strong industry and internal relationships, sourcing business and market intelligence, progressing opportunity assessments, and supporting transaction execution.

This role will provide the leadership necessary for the development and execution of a market driven strategic plan to gain key international and domestic customer insights and develop revenue growth streams within the Supply & Marketing business units, including crude, products, petrochemicals, terminals & pipelines, logistics, lubricants and marketing. The business profitability and volumes performance will be assessed vs. budget plan and benchmarked vs. competitors when applicable.

The position will work aligned with the Supply and Marketing team objectives to leverage business insights and the competitive advantages of CITGO organization. The role is accountable for the proper and profitable management of CITGO’s brand in international and domestic markets.

Continuous interaction and alignment with multiple commercial and operational groups (crude, light oil, lubricants, petrochemical, finance, logistics, terminals & pipelines) will be required to ensure opportunities are rigorously evaluated, captured, and monitored. In addition, interactions with CITGO CEO, COO, Vice President Supply & Marketing, and Assistant Vice President Supply & Trading will be imperative for overall corporate alignment.

This role will be responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining superior relationships with key external stakeholders (partners, customers and governments) to maximize business opportunities, profitability and value return to CITGO.
