This week, we wrapped up our 2025 programming with a special milestone event. Breakfast With the Consulate, our first‑ever member‑exclusive briefing series, hosted at the British Consul General’s Residence in Houston.
The session brought members together for an open and informative discussion led by HM Consul General Keith Scott and Director of Trade Tim Cork, offering valuable insight into how the UK Government team operates and engages with businesses across Texas and the wider region.
Insight Into UK–US Trade and Business Engagement
During the briefing, members heard directly from Consulate leadership on several key topics, including:
How the Consulate team works across the wider UK Government network
Priorities for the year ahead, with a focus on UK–US trade, investment, and regional engagement
How the UK Department for Business and Trade supports companies operating throughout Texas and beyond
These insights provided helpful clarity on how businesses can engage more effectively with UK Government resources and align with upcoming priorities.
A Two‑Way Conversation With Members
The session was designed to encourage genuine dialogue, and members played an active role in the conversation. Attendees shared what matters most to their organizations, where they see opportunities for deeper collaboration, and how BABC Texas can continue to strengthen the bridge between industry and the UK Government team in Houston.
This exchange of perspectives made the discussion especially meaningful and reinforced the value of creating space for open, constructive engagement.
Thank You to Our Hosts and Participants
A sincere thank you to Keith Scott, Tim Cork, and Mary McIntyre, President of BABC Texas, for leading such a thoughtful and engaging discussion. We are also grateful to our members for contributing their insights and helping make the session a success.
We look forward to building on this momentum and shaping future sessions together in 2025. If you would like to be invited to the next Breakfast With the Consulate, we encourage you to let us know.
